Kikkoman Shoyu Bottle

Add to your Reverse Gem coastal collection with this beautiful aqua bottle found on the beach!

The brand of this bottle is "Kikkoman" - the famous Japanesae soya sauce.  Soy sauce is a staple for the Japanese diet for hundreds of years.

This particular bottle dates back to the 70s.

This traditional seasoning was first contained in ceramics such as jars, pots and wooden barrels.  In the Meiji period (1868-1912), glass was used and then the Taisho period (1912-1926) saw the introduction of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles.
