This piece of driftwood was originally a "Geta" - a traditional Japanese footwear resembling flip-flops. They are a kind of sandal with a flat wooden base but elevated with "teeth" (two pieces of wood that would have been in the two strips of this piece of wood). It would have been held on the foot with a piece of fabric to keep the foot above the ground.
Condition: Slight split on one side but full in tact. Scratches and scruffs for that perfect look.
Each driftwood piece has been treated at home however please note Australian customers, that there is no commercial treament license so Customs may not allow this item.
Each piece is collected by me from my local beach in North Eastern Japan and posted directly from Japan.
